Bedtime becomes funtime with this amusing goodnight story about little llamas who refuse to sleep. The moon is rising, it's getting late; the hour has come for all little llamas to get in their pajamas. But Mama Llama has a lot on her hands, because her naughty children want to play instead. Llamas here, llamas there, llamas having a pillow fight everywhere. One thirsty llama wants water in his mug, another snuggly llama wants Mama's hug. Will they ever, ever go to sleep? Every toddler will recognize and delight in the llamas' mischievous tactics.
My boys all enjoy this book to be read at bedtime - even after several years (they are 4,5 & 7 yrs old now). The antics of the four llama children mimic those of my own children which I'm sure is one of the reasons it's a favorite of theirs. The mama llama is doing her best to get everyone to bed and keep them in bed, but it proves to be a trying task. Finally, everyone is yawning and their eyelids are drooping... The rhymes are endearing and the illustrations are simple and engaging. Still, little surprises are tucked in each page and allow for added interest. My boys never tire of pointing out the messy toothpaste! We purchase this book for each new baby born into our extended family and it has become a favorite for each family. Of course, the fact that we own a llama farm may have initially influenced our opinion, but the books stands the test by non-llama owners too!
