Lizabeth Scott: Noir Baritone Blonde

Lizabeth Scott (September 29, 1921 - January 31, 2015) was an American actress of stage, film, radio and television, writer and singer. She began her career on the stage in small roles and, as a model for Harper's Bazaar, was discovered by Hollywood producer Hal Wallis. The actress would appear in 22 films. Dubbed The Threat, she was best known for her alluring roles in film noirs of the 1940s and 1950s. Scott penned an article for Photoplay in 1948 called "Don't Misunderstand Me." Her career faltered when Wallis appeared to lose interest, and she was the victim of a scandalous article by Confidential magazine released in 1955. The actress recorded an album in 1958 called Lizabeth. She continued to work in television and made a career comeback in the modern film noir Pulp in 1972. After that Scott retired a wealthy woman. This is the first biography of the star and covers both her career and life.
