Living with the Past

This was the first Great Books anthology my book group used, and boy, is it a lot of book for the money (449 pp)! I was excited to read some authors I thought I would never read (like Proust) and excited to discover titles I had never heard of (like Momik). I also appreciated the chance to read a few poetry selections closely; I simply haven't been exposed to much poetry and always feel overwhelmed by big poetry anthologies. The discussion questions provided were very helpful in getting our group more focused on discussing the readings (as opposed to our spouses, jobs, big news stories. . . ).
