Valerie Ann (Crandall) Walker was born on December 15, 1932, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She creates art and poetry inspired by her faith, her love of her family and friends (including people she has never met), and her close connection to animals and the spirit of nature. With her husband of over 70 years, Bob Walker, she resides in Petoskey, Michigan. Together they raised five children, one son and four daughters. Valerie taught in the public schools in Michigan and has a degree in Art Education from Grand Valley State University. She has shared her encouragement, knowledge, and passion for art and poetry with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren throughout their lives. This book is part of a two-volume set of selected poems and poetic prose, Believing and Living , which chronicle her life experiences, feelings, perceptions, and sometimes humorous thoughts over three-quarters of a century.
