True story of Ira, Belarussian child after Chernobyl - highly recommend
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 16 years ago
I was in Poland in the time when Chernobyl accident happen. Polish children had much better access to medical help, every child received iodine solution. The radiation level was much lower than in Gomel region in Belarus. Nice book, about a girl orphaned after being born with defects probably due to the Chernobyl accident. Very nice pictures. You can see Belarus, its poverty but also beauty and learn the history of Chernobyl through information in this book and through the eyes of the children. It makes you feel that you are there in Belarus with these kids.
