The Lives of the Saints for Boys

Book Overview

The Lives of Saints for Boys

The Lives of Saints for Boys contains a one-page biography of 14 of the most popular male saints. It is a great introduction to Saints Peter, Paul, Joseph, Anthony, Patrick, John the Baptist and other good men that girls will enjoy learning about as well. A full-page, full-color illustration accompanies each Saint. In a culture bombarding boys with distorted masculinity--hyper-aggression in gaming, objectification in media, and relativism in ethics--the lives of male saints offer Catholic boys authentic role models of virtue, courage, and holiness. Hagiography, far from dusty legend, provides living blueprints for integrating faith with manhood.

Male saints incarnate the Beatitudes in flesh and blood. Studying them equips Catholic boys to reject counterfeit manhood for the narrow path: protectors, not predators; leaders, not lords; lovers of God and neighbor. In a father-hungry world, this cloud of witnesses (Heb. 12:1) runs alongside every boy racing toward heaven.
