New York City detective John McClane (Bruce Willis) delivers old-school justice to a new breed of terrorists when a massive computer attack on the U.S. infrastructure threatens to shut down the entire country over Independence Day weekend.
Kill, murder, maim with a smirk. Police detective John McClane (Bruce Willis) must dismantle and destroy the evil Thomas Gabriel (Timothy Olyphant) and Thomas’s cabal before they can do more evil.
Detective Mclane uses pre-tech brute force (guns, cars, and other such devices) to foil the high-tech threat. To counter Thomas Gabriel’s superior knowledge of the infrastructure weaknesses, Detective Mclane uses the help and knowledge of a high-tech victim, Matt Farrell (Justin Long). Matt uses faux-technical jargon to explain to John and us what the threat is and how to foil it.
We get to see the action from both sides now, and we can kibitz.
This is worth re-watching to see what we missed the first time around the action.
