Sweet and Thoughtful

This is such a sweet and thoughtful story. Multiple lessons- effects of environmental changes, how to persevere, compassion, and appreciating and being grateful for what you have. This has been a nap time favorite going on six months.

excellent story, environmentally conscious

I have used this story in my pre-K classroom for years. It brings environmental awareness to a story the children can understand. I recommend the story and this edition. If offers a teacher or parent good opportunities for follow up discussion and scientific observation.

away and back again

I must have read this to my children 990 times. The story never ceases to be new and interesting. The art work is superb, with detail to be relished. Little turtle finds a road crew changing his turf. He then needs to go to plan B. Plan B doesn't serve him too well. But provedence brings him to a satisfying place. This book brings deep themes of sameness and change. It also is a neat introduction to geography.
