Adelheid Cihlar, n e Freier, was born 1956 in Montreal, Canada. She attended High School in the Bay Area of San Francisco, California. Today, she lives with her family in a small town close to Heidelberg in Germany. Being named after and inspired by the book "Heidi", she has always believed in making the best of what life brings on. Feeling that children are always in search for guidelines, especially in our fast paced society, she leads into the world of animal fables; written for children and the young at heart, where values such as family, friendship, compassion and respect for others can be found. Hoping to urge people back to thinking, feeling and caring about each other, she writes about the weakest of the scale and brings it to a point: "Mice are sometimes only just plain human."
