Great book

Mercer Mayer at his best

Oh, my gosh. I had this book as a kid and I loved, loved, loved it. The illustrations are rich, larger-than-life and full of bits of humor you sometimes have to look closely to catch. I don't remember reading the actual story so much as just following the illustrations from beginning to end. Mercer Mayer's books (the couple I'm familiar with, at least) can be thoroughly enjoyed by following the illustrations alone, and that's quite a special thing, I think.
