Awesome Book!

I absolutely LOVED "Little House by Boston Bay." Whenever I go to get my Laura & Rose books, I include this one right along with it. There seems to be a certain warmth and attractiveness about the book. From bold 12-year-old Lewis to doll-eating infant Mary, I love it! It's also nice to see Martha from "Little House in the Highlands" all grown up, with a mind and a voice of her own. Overall, the book was great and I recommend it to all people, fans or no fans.

A great book

Like all the others of the Little House books, it was wonderful. You can't compare it to Laura's writing, but it is pretty close. Melissa writes wonderfully and puts some thoughts in your heads. I really loved the book as much as the others. Keep on reading.

A book full fo historical information.

Little House by Boston Bay follows Charlotte Tucker, a 5 year old girl, through the summer and fall of 1814. It is full of historical information and great descriptions of day-to-day life. Entertaining to read, and the book flap indicates it is recommended for grades 3-7. The writing style strikes me as young for higher grades. This book should be of interest to students who enjoy historical stories of the 18th century in the times of the Boston Tea Party.

The story of Laura Ingalls Wilder's grandmother.

Charlotte Tucker will grow up to be Laura Ingalls Wilder's grandmother, but in this book, she's a five-year-old girl living near Boston during the War of 1812. Charlotte hates the British blockade, because it means no molasses with supper. This was a well-written, detailed, and interesting book. I enjoyed it a lot
