Delightful mini biographies for preschoolers

Little Heroes: Courageous People Who Changed the World is a delightful 16-page board book written for pre-school children. Bright colors and figures that are dressed in clothes appropriate for their time period will pique a child's interest. Kyle Kershner has done a great job as the illustrator for this series. Author Heidi Poelman has chosen eight men and women from a variety of time periods and countries and given just a snippet of information about them and their contributions to the opportunity of freedom throughout the world. Each person is displayed on two pages and there is a pithy quote taken from his or her life as well as a snippet of their work towards freedom. With highlighted individuals such as William Wilberforce, Rosa Parks, Mahatma Gandhi, and Harriet Tubman, this book will be a welcome addition to any child's library. I received a complimentary copy of the book and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.
