Rose, 8 years old has been told by her mother." You must take care of Albert". Albert is only 6. While all the children are waiting on the platform to get on the train, Rose notices her friends further down the platform. They were giggling and having a grand old time. Rose sits Albert on a bench and tells him to stay put, ensuring him she will be right back, and quickly goes to her friends. After a few minutes of hugs with friends, ."All Aboard, all aboard" is loudly announced by the Station Master. A panicked Rose rushes back down the platform.

Anxious children and chaperones are rushing everywhere. Rose pushes and shoves her way to the bench but no Albert." Albert, Albert where are you" she yells frantically running left and right. A nearby chaperone misunderstand Rose's tears and pleas for help as being just a frightened little girl not wanting to get on the train. She grabs Roses hand and in one swoop the two of them land on the slowly moving train. The Grand Adventure has begun. No one understood the life and death struggles these children would have to survive.
