Literature, Cinema and Violence: Latin America (1977-2009) recognizes the relationships, common characteristics and types of violence evidenced in film adaptations (1977-2009) originated in some Latin American literary works. This allows the generation of new critical, methodological and theoretical elements around the relationship between cinema, literature and violence, since it uses new classifications of the latter to motivate new approaches and points of view on the continental realities and their literary and cinematographic expressions. Thus, with film adaptations of works by Jos Donoso, Manuel Puig, Gabriel Garc a M rquez, Gustavo lvarez Gardeazabal, Mario Vargas Llosa, Santiago Gamboa, Jorge Franco and Eduardo Sacheri, an attempt is made to answer the question of how both authors and filmmakers have turned their eyes to the construction of violence in the Latin American environment.
