With an intense and raw honesty, the author shares her pain openly with the reader. And with her, you 'watch' as she comes to terms with the past and learns to accept 'things one cannot change' and gains the 'courage to change the things one can.' The reader is left with deep feelings of hurt for the author and of anger towards so much hypocrisy displayed by others.

This is an amazing true-story if one incredible woman and her family. I riveted between anger, laughter, compassion and sadness for this story. I so admire this author for having the courage to tell her story, that I am sure was beyond painful to write, yet will be so helpful to other's struggling with family "secrets" or dysfunction. This is a spellbinding, captivating story that I could not put down! I never wanted the book to end! She is a fabulous writer and the book reads well. Her charismatic and bold honesty will keep any reader hooked! This is one incredible woman and family that beat the odds!

WOW! What a story, I can't believe this author that wrote this is "sane" enough to tell her story! This story is so intense and painful at times, that you need to stop and take a deep breath! Yet you are unable to put it down because it is so good! Sher Bauman is an incredible writer and her words will grip you to the core in this true story of her life and overcoming HUGE obstacles that most could never endure! Write another one Sher, your amazing!!
