Another flying adventurer with our dragon-riding heroin

Natalie Prior has created the fourth book for what has become an outstanding series, which follows the journey of Lily Quench. Young readers can relate to Lily's semi-consistent bravery and the importance of friendship that this dragon-riding heroin has found with Queen Dragon. Together the two female characters seek out magical places in defense of their home (Ashby Water) and in search of continual happiness. Their journey leads them to a magical group of islands where they meet a young girl who is trying to run away from her responsibility as caretaker of the sea dragons. Lily and Queen Dragon help her realize that having the task of caring for living things is a special honor. In this book, Natalie Prior shows the healthy respect that she has for libraries, as she has created a living library in the form of a tree to serve as a key component in Lily's quest. As with book two in this series, book four does not pack the explosive punch of the first and third books. Consequently, this book gets a four out of five stars because it seems to set up the 'grand adventure' and provides background tie-ins for the entire series. Hopefully, the significance of visiting the library will become more apparent in book five.
