His first poem was published while he was failing high school English. Within ten years, over one hundred of his poems had been published in newspapers, literary journals, and movement magazines. Self published in the tradition of Walt Whitman for the past thirty years, River is an experienced spoken word artist who has performed his work, with and without accompaniment, in venues all over the country.
