Like a Guilty Thing

I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in a story that looks into the soul of human nature and how guilt drives people without even them knowing it. The descriptions drew me into every scene, so I felt like I was there with the characters as they struggled with their lives. At times haunting, at times compassionate, at times outright humorous, yet always hopeful. A moving piece that has stayed with me.

This book swept me off my feet with themes of love, passion, regret, guilt, friends, and family. It was amazingly put together and gives insight to human emotions as well as the Depression. Every chapter kept me reading through the night until the surprising and exceptional end. Every description was beautifully written and it is a intellectual read that I would highly recommend to everyone!

Like a Guilty Thing is an engrossing book that I would highly recommend. I was surprised at how many topics it managed to include, thinking when I got it that it was simply a historical novel. It is a good contrast of modern adult relationships and childhood relationships in 1935. I enjoyed every minute of it and managed to learn a few things.
