This is a collection of memories/stories/tales/ etc., from Dixie and Walter Lightsey and their 8 children, grands, in-laws, etc. They were married in 1926, lived through and raised children during the Great Depression, World War II, and more. All three of their sons went into the US Army plus one daughter. Good hard working people. Some of the tales/memories are humorous--such as the time oldest son Tully lit a match to see what was inside an "empty" kerosene tank. Another is told by grandson about the time his older sister protected him from a cousin bully who ended up yelling "Get her off me." And the "hangy down part of one ear was sort of dangling. One daughter who was serving with her husband in France bought a cut and prepared rabbit to eat and discovered the unexpected result of a strange French law. A pet pig? Yep. And more.
