Lights in Asphalt: The Pacific Lightshow

Lights in Asphalt is about a group of young adults who lived out their adolescence in constant anxiety of the future. They were convinced to carry arms by their respective nations to fight for things they weren't old enough to know if they actually believed in. They were sold on the lie that was peace, and hooked on the drug that was patriotism.
This ultimately led to a few individuals in small rooms deciding when and how the world was going to end, in the greatest exchange of weapons ever seen. Yet, at the exact moment all weapons were free... there was an intervention in French Polynesia. An intervention by what is still unclear, even a couple years later; but whatever it was, it shifted the paradigm.
Our ragtag group of young adults return home after what became known, in some circles, as The Pacific Lightshow, Despite the acclaim of nations celebrating the new, great global peace--- they find less traffic, more buildings, and seemingly less people. To their dismay, they discover that while they were out at sea fending for their country, their neighbors succumbed to greater digital immersion and lost interest in the physical world.
Despite the global peace, a small, nationless group has begun targeting witnesses to the Lightshow. Evidence of the day has been scrubbed on a digital level, and those who were present that day in French Polynesia are being erased, just like the history of the world around them.
This book follows heartbreak, the struggle of identity in a world so convoluted and angry, and the questions that seem less and less possible to answer as the years go by... What are we doing? Who are we? What is it all for? What does it actually mean to grow up?

Embark on a trip that spans across the vastness of North America and it's oceans in search of reason, solace and truth.
