We are in current times when Dr. Logan Powell, successful psychotherapist, realizes that he can somehow be the catalyst to positive human change. As a psychotherapist, he realizes the monotony of his job is not enough to promote changes he'd like to see within the human population. So what does he do? He abandons everything and everyone

on Earth, including his family, upon signing a contract with a private firm named Lemniscate, which will allow Logan to cryogenically freeze himself until the 22nd century, in preparation for intergalactic travel to Mars, where it is then already terraformed and colonized.

Why? He envisions himself to be one of the founding fathers to new human philosophy on the Martian planet.

Logan senses that Earthly humans are never going to change or undo into utopian creatures. He believes to complete his selfless duties to the universe, he must first become self-absorbed at maximum capacity, and so this means leaving behind the status quo; his everyday life.
