A Blast

This 32 page book about how a space shuttle is launched is a great book for kids who love science and the space program. The text is accompanied by actual pictures of the topic under discussion. Your child can see what a space suit looks like. Watch the billowing fumes as the shuttle rockets blasts off and more. For children who have advanced reading skills in the 4 to 8 year old age group, they'll find this to be a challenging, but fun read.

My 3 yr old son is very interested in the space shuttle. This book is wonderful! I first purchased this series as a children's librarian. Our youngest readers loved these Rookie Science books. They always flew off our shelves. Now, it's great to share them with my son. We borrowed this title from our local library and we are having to purchase it to add to our collection. He doesn't want to give this one back! He actually "reads" Liftoff! by memory. The title will also benefit him later when he's a reader of text.

Boy of 2 years loves this book

My 2 year old son loves this book! He actually learned the parts of the shuttle, the astronauts and how they move the shuttle in 2 readings with this neat little book. I can't wait to find more of them.
