I'm so impressed with Sharon Gricol's writing. it is so clear to me that EVERY word written was chosen deliberately to convey an image or a message. No fluff. It is not a book that lends itself to speed reading as you need to savor each sentence. I really enjoyed how she developed her characters and wove their stories together to create a compelling, realistic and engaging story. I look forward to reading her next book!

The cover is a beautiful portrayal of what Sharon Gricol has written about Jesus on the cross. I was emotionally touched and drawn into each character, I wanted to read page after page; this is a very hard book to put down. There is some very thought provoking poetry filtered throughout Life's Captivity that I will read again and again. This book made me look at religion differently and the struggles are real to life. I liked how she wove all the characters lives together, how their lives touched each other, and how small the world really can be if we only knew of all the encounters. I highly recommend Life's Captivity, it is refreshing and insightful.

Life's Captivity does an excellent job of intertwining several characters with life stories that tug at your heart. Many people can identify with the fictional characters and use those life experiences to help solve their own life problems. Life's Captivity strikes right at the heart of issues we can face throughout our lives. It is a book that is very hard to put down. I highly recommend to read this book.

Very true to life.Made it very real and personal. All families make mistakes.I saw myself and family throughout the book. As a single mother myself and from a family that has made mistakes, the characters touched me in many ways. To know I was not the only that has gone through bumps in the road. Eventually, all are leveled by faith and acceptance. I hope you find comfort in reading it like I did.
