Changing my life through Life Retold

If sad experiences and frayed relationships are crippling your life you will be inspired by this book. Through Teri's experiences I found a way to re-evaluate and use my past to empower me and add richness to my relationships and all the while I enjoyed it. Straightforward and brutally honest, Teri looks at life with clarity and wonder. This is a great read and powerful guide for finding happiness in life.

Engrossing and Inspiring

It always amazes me when I hear about people who, despite having extremely difficult childhoods, become astoundingly talented and giving human beings... and Teri Hawkins' life story is one of the most extraordinary. Her stories of abandonment by her father, growing up in poverty, becoming paralyzed after an accident (just to name a few) are written in such a unique personal story-telling way that it makes you feel you are right there along side her, feeling all the joy, wonder, fear and pain with her. Engrossing and inspiring, the stories illustrate how the author completely transmuted the most challenging incidents in her early years into deeper understandings that led to growth and love in all areas of her life. Readers are shown how to apply these same lessons to their own lives at the end of each story with suggestions on how to `change your story and change your life'! This isn't just a catchy phrase... it works! I speak from experience because with Teri's help, my life completely changed for the better by retelling the story concerning my relationship with my father (who died many years ago). A book you'll read over and over

When I started reading this book I was immediately surprised. The collection of stories are so varied that each touched me in a different way. There were times when as I read, my own experiences meshed with the authors, and I began to see my life differently. The stories are more than inspiring. They help you to recognize that in every experience there is an opportunity to learn more about yourself and your potential. I was especially amazed with the story of her paraplegia. It was an absolutely incredible story of courage and faith. This author is a master storyteller, and in my years as a counselor and teacher I know how powerful stories can be.
