A Winding, Harrowing Adventure Both Now and Then

Rinker Buck is one of those authors who doesn't only tell the forgotten history of America, he seeks out to experience it first hand. His narratives are frank, honest, even if embarrassing to himself and those he meets. In this tale, Buck floats down the Mississippi with an eclectic group and meets plenty of eccentric folks along the way as he dodges massive barges. What the reader experiences is an overlap of where the river is now, to how it was then.
