From the Heart - Challenging & Inspirational

Mr. Simons has provided the gift of his experience coupled with wisdom in order to reminded us of who we truly are. Life Matters is not only a story of self learned life lessons but, also a practical reference work that bullet-points to the lowest common denominator what is important, what in "life matters". This book further coaches us to focus on our own life's purpose while rekindling the understanding that we are all the same. In short "Life Matters" is grounded and centered work of reality for a society in a time of chaos, fragmentation and rapid change. Mr. Simons has given the gift of himself so that we can be re-enlightened of the same gift in ourselves.

Something to Think About

In an age of high tech and high talk its seems strange but is true that we actually take very little time to "think" about our lives which is the only way that we can effectively plan our lives. I came to to terms with this misty little fact while reading the appropriately titled, "Life Matters" which combines original quotes and authentic life experiences to encourage more than just today's highly commercialized trite notions of living with value: "smelling the roses," "feeding the children in Africa," the million dollar theories on being sucessful or the slim-down-in-30-days-enrich your life pitches. The market today is flooded with such tapes and books that do little more than inundate us with inflexible goals and a guilty conscience about all the ways in which we are wrong for success. Simons approach is a refreshing calm. It is simple and pointed, poetic and yet practical. It encourages daily success by pointing out the small opportunities we have to be great by just re-thinking our lives through different prisms. I'd never thought of myself as a leader, but then again I never thought of the quality of my life as a follower either. Do we listen to our children? Do we save money? Do we think about these things as a normal daily function or as an event? This book prompted these questions. I felt encouraged as well, not to stop to smell the flowers, but to know that they are there, that there is beauty in the world. It was something to think about.
