To be happy on Earth, just follow these simple instructions: Don't bring snakes inside the house; be nice to the nerdy kid next door--and to any space creatures you may meet; laugh a lot; and, most... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is a cute little "manual" on how to be happy on Earth, narrated by a red-head teenage (?) boy. Most of the sections -- Be nice to others, etc. -- are nice, appropriate, and often humorous. I thought the weakest section was "Be nice to yourself". It encourages eating ice cream, crying when you feel like it, not worrying, etc. An older child will hopefully understand the caveats involved (if you're really sad, it's okay to cry; eat three scoops of ice cream OCCASIONALLY). However, this book is marketed as being for ages 3-8, and younger kids tend to have a literal understanding of things, so the messages ended up seeming a bit self-absorbed. The rest of the book, however, seemed more straightforward and probably appropriate for the large age range.
