Book Overview

'Brilliant' OK 'Engagingly warm' Heat 'Sensational' The Mirror'Ronan Keating demolishes his 'Mr Perfect of Pop image in a new warts-and-all book of his amazing ride to stardom.' The MirrorRonan Keating is a very real idol. In a life-story that received extensive press and ecstatic reviews as 'a classic - honest, funny and gripping', Ronan Keating tells the full story of his incredible journey. He may be only 23 but he has lived an extraordinary life so far, from playing football on a housing estate in North Dublin to headlining Madison Square Garden with Elton John. But Ronan has never forgotten it's his fans that got him there. It's an inspirational story of a boy from modest beginnings who confounded the critics and made his mark with talent, boyish good looks and, above all, an integrity that has helped him move from the teen market to a broader, adult audience. In a surprisingly honest, remarkably frank style he talks openly of his background and his beloved mother, Boyzone's extraordinary catapult to fame, his friends and band-mates and his new solo career and his wife and son. Brimming with anecdote and revelation, this is a brilliantly written book by a true star - Ronan.

Surprisingly good

I bought this book because I knew Ronan was Irish and I love this country. I needed something to read for the airplane and... what a wonderful surprise I found! Ronan's story is not new at all but his style is very fresh, very sincere and human. It's an excellent reading for those interested in the world of pop music and also for those who love to hear an Irish guy telling you stories drinking a beer in a pub. I guess the book tells you more than what Ronan could tell you in a single night with a pint of Guinness so fans... this is a must-read!

Changed My Opinion

I borrowed this book off a friend who said that it was good, but i was unsure as i had never been a fan of Ronan. Upon starting this book i couldnt put it down. This book charts Ronans like from a young age and through Boyzone and into his solo carear. This book is full of funny parts but also has its sad moments. This book is a must have for any fan of Ronan, of which i was not but i am now

A must have book for any fan...

Hi, I have been a fan of Boyzone since 1996. I have followed for far for years. Getting to meet them in Orlando in 1997 and then getting to see them play live at Wembley Arena in London in 1998. This book will have you laughing at storys of growning up a normal kid all over Ireland to stories of the early days on the road to later days on the road. It will make you cry when you get to chapter 11. Where he got the strength to go on I will never know. I bought this book in London on a recent trip, but knowing it aviable here in the states I recommend it for any fan of Ronan or Boyzone. I can't put it down when I start to read it.

Ronan Keating autobiography

I thought this book was absolutley brilliant! It was one of the most honest books I have read in a long time and it was a real rollercoaster of emotions. Ronan explained all about his childhood and how exactly boyzone began. He also talked about how he felt when his mam died, his love for his model wife yvonne, what it was like to become a father for the first time, the pressures of fame and many other things as well. There are some never before seen pictures and it proved to me that Ronan Keating is one of the most honest, down to earth guys that you could ever meet. Not only is Ronan a member of a top boy band, a successful solo artist, a tv presenter, manager of Westlife, husband and father but he is also a brilliant writer and he is only 23! Its a must for anybody, fan or not!
