Depending on whom one asks, the question "What is the meaning of life?" is either the deepest question of human existence or a stupid request based on a conceptual confusion.
Life purpose presents a conceptual difficulty not to talk of the grammatical arrangement of "meaning" and "life". It's frequently posed with assumptions about what the universe "should" look like in order for there to be a purpose to life that is transcendent, spiritual, or religious in nature. The concern is that even if the idea of a meaning of life is coherent, it is likely that there is not one insofar as the question is intertwined with such concepts.
Notwithstanding these reservations and a general lack of interest, the burden of the meaning of life continues to weigh on man's thoughts.
