Nell Goodwin had a hard life but was able to write about the good things that happened. Being a kid during the depression was an advantage. That trip was one big adventure from hop fields to strawberry patches. Another very hard time was on the Hopi reservation with her husband and children. She was able to write about the good things in a hard life as she raised eight children, the last 3 or 4 alone. One of her granddaughters asked her to write about growing up. That got her started and she ended with her trip to Malibu. That was a wonderful trip for her. God made a way for her to go.
