"Life along Delway Highway" is about a small town in southern Sampson County in the state of North Carolina, and the Mulatto family that emerged and flourished there. They sprang forth as free people of color during the 1700's amid slave markets about an hour west in the city of Fayetteville and an hour southeast in the city of Wilmington. The West family and its relatives existed as Mulattos for nearly 200 years, spanning across three centuries. Read, and learn about a different way of life for some people of color in the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries. Enjoy!
