Kathryn Larsen's book is indeed water to a parched and injured soul. What really caught my attention was how she was able to word her experience in such a way as to help you feel her pain, anguish and fear without having all the graphic details. I was indeed able to feel her pain, as well as that of the other women who wrote in. Many times I wanted to reach out and give these women a hug. I wanted to wisper..."It's o.k...I'm a sister too!" That's what I consider myself...part of a "sisterhood" made up entirely of women who have been raped. These women have far to long been made to feel ashamed for their experiences. Kathryn's book points out that NO woman should have to feel it was their fault...no matter what the situation. And that if at first you don't find a "compatable" therapist to help you, by all means, continue searching untill you do. Thank you Kathryn, for giving your sisters a salve to sooth their wounds. And thank you for taking the time to reach out to others. They needed you.
