"The Lexie Maxwell Diaries" are based on the adventures of protagonist Amy Maxwell's preteen daughter, Lexie. Heather wrote the series with the help from her own preteen daughter who begged her to write a book that she was allowed to read. Heather also lives with her teenaged son, husband, two dogs, and an ancient cat. When she is not writing, working as a middle school nurse, or shuttling her kids off to activities, she can be found at the beach with a book.
