The Cadenza Piano Method is a unique comprehensive beginner piano series that takes students from the absolute beginning stages of piano playing to reading two handed music notation with sharps and flats in just three levels. Its age-neutral design makes it perfect for older beginners yet it's simple enough for the youngest of students to use. With its minimalist and to-the-point design, this method book introduces aspiring pianists to the fundamentals of piano playing and music reading without any fluff. Images of real keyboards show students where to place their hands for almost every piece, making at-home practice more successful. The accompanying workbooks for each level give students ample repetition so students can internalize and practice key concepts and gain comfortability in writing their own music. This method is an excellent tool for mastering basic techniques, gaining a solid foundation in music theory and keyboard geography, and exploring the world of composition and improvisation.
Level B builds upon concepts introduced in Level A and introduces the white keys and musical alphabet. In addition to reading notation using off-staff alpha-notes, students will learn to play all the arpeggios, pentascales, and triads that use only white keys. Major and minor tonalities and solfege syllables are introduced, which sets the foundation for playing by ear. By the end of Level B, students will have a solid knowledge of keyboard geography and be prepared for reading music on the staff in different hand positions.
