Charming romance and very passionate...

This is a wonderful first novel by this author and I wish there were another 10 to be read from this author. Laura is a wonderful person who was tragically left alone 5 years earlier when her partner of 10 years, Alexandra, died in an accident. Since than she has had fly by night encounters and has just ended a 3 year relationship. She is doing all she can to protect herself from potential hurt that could result if she falls in love again. Enter Kate who is everything that Laura could love and Kate has a huge attraction for Laura. The novel is short but has surprising depth plus a couple twists and turns. From the back of the book - 'She was aching for Laura, but didn't want to disapoint her. Drawing herself away from Laura's hungry mouth she whispered, "I don't know what to do". Laura pulled the woman tight against her and kissed her slowly and deeply. Then she leaned back and smiled, "Oh, I think you do..". Taking a risk on love is a hard thing to do

Laura is 39-years old and half-owner of a small,fairly successfully ad firm. She lost her first lover, Alex, in a terrible accident and continues to be haunted by it. She is afraid of ever being that vulnerable again. Kate, a 23-year old art designer for a firm that Laura uses has been smitten with Laura since she first met her. Laura meanwhile is having a meaningless affair with Kelly to satisfy her lust but not her heart. She is overhwelmed when she learns that Kate is interested in her and tries desperately to discourage Kate but to no avail. Kate, even at a tender age knows what she wants. Laura can't resist her but is still too afraid to let go of Kelly, whom she thinks of as a safety net. So she tries to juggle the two women with limited success because she is inexorably falling in love with Kate. But can she let go of Alex's memory? Will Kate find out that Kelly is still in the picture and can Laura give true love a second chance despite her fears? Read and find out.

I love most of Ann O'Leary books, very passionate, romantic love stories. This one is certainly one of her best books I've ever read. If you are looking for a real and heart touching love story then this is a must read book!
