Letting Go

It's autumn, a season of change. Except for this autumn, one courageous Leaf refuses to fall.

"Why not?" asked the Tree.

"I love the feeling of the sun's warm touch during the summer, the taste of sweet dew in the morning, and a gentle breeze in the spring."

"Everyone is afraid of facing the unknown," the Tree said.

"It's not fair," said the Leaf. "You enjoy hundreds of seasons, where I only see three."

The Tree shrugged his branches and said, "It doesn't matter how many seasons we have, three or hundreds--we will always long for more."
