I was forever changed the morning we realized we had hours to escape from Kenya.I left my comfortable and stable life in Canada in April of 2007, and replanted my family on another continent to build a life around a new city, an unknown people and a foreign language. My role as a wife was tested as I strove to support my husband who wanted to make a difference in a third world country. I was determined as a young mother oftwo small daughters to maintain a positive attitude inspite of security threats, non-existent water and electricity, as well as the constant onslaught of mosquitos, bats, rats and poisonous snakes.Our plans ended abruptly after ten months when Kenya was plunged into extreme tribal violence following controversial elections.As I share our adventures, I reveal my struggles with culture shock, loneliness, constant illness, fear and depression. At the same time, I tell the story of God's faithfulness as He provided us with courage, wisdom, new friendships, humor, healing and personal safety.
