William Barclay devotes two chapters to each of the seven churches addressed in the book of Revelation. One chapter characterizes the ancient city and the other comments on John's message to the members of that community. This reissue of an older Westminster Press title makes a welcome addition to the highly popular William Barclay Library series. The William Barclay Library is a collection of books addressing the great issues of the Christian faith. As one of the world's most widely read interpreters of the Bible and its meaning, William Barclay devoted his life to helping people become more faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

Letters to the Seven Churches (WBL) (William Barclay Library)William Barclay made an invaluable contribution to our understanding of chapters two and three of the Book of Revelation. An easy read but also very well researched and scholarly (without being technical). As a Seminary Graduate, Pastor and Missionary Educator I highly endorse this important addition to commentaries on The Seven Churches of Revelation. Pastor Joseph Meyers
Helpful but not the last word

Barclay's work on this subject is helpful and full of practical insights. Worth having. Yet, there are two others I would rank above this one. John Stott's "What Christ Thinks of His Church," and Robert L. Thomas' "Revelation 1-7" in the Exegetical Commentary series by Moody Press, 1992.
