London during world war ll, heartful story of heartbreak, love lost over decades and found again.

Oh My God ! Where to start ! I so loved, loved, loved, this book !! It is a heartbreaking beautifully written story, that will capture you to want to keep reading..but at the same time never wanting it to end ! My heart broke more than once, and other times I was so joyful for Stella and the true love she finally found. The story is about a young woman Jess, who is running from her drug crazed abusive boyfriend, and breaks in to an abandoned house, and hides out there till she figures out where and what she needs to do next. Looking around the house for just some basic clothing to keep warm, as of course there's no heat or electricity, she finds a box of love letters written to a woman Stella, from a U.S. airman during world war ll.The letters are so Captivating and full of love, Jess can't stop reading them. They are about a love so strong that it exceeds through all time..up to the very present. Jess realizes this, when one day a letter comes through the mail slot on the front door, marked URGENT, PLEASE READ IMMEDIATELY! She recognizes the airman Dan's handwriting and address from Maine. She opens it to find Dan is very very sick, and before something happens to him, his last wish is to find Stella, and talk with her once again, if she is even still alive, he has no idea, and sends letters, hoping one day for a reply. Jess is so driven by the letters of the past for Dan and Stella, and their undying love, that even in the present letter his love for Stella is just as strong. Jess is determined to find Stella for Dan, before anything happens to him, knowing how very sickly he is...to find out what happened to separate them all those years ago ! So begins a truly remarkable story..of romance, love, heartache, and love lost and found ! In helping to find Stella, you realize that by the end of the book, one woman's Devastation ( Stella's story) is another womans Salvation, (Jess's life). Such a beautiful story, written with so much feeling, the author has a gift of bringing all the characters alive with personalities that some, you will love, others you will truly hate with all your heart !!! The story is between two time lines, the war years for Stella and Dan, and Current time for Jess. No way does it interfere with this beautiful story, or will it confuse you in any way. A truly unforgettable story, I highly recommend..if I could..it would be ALL of 10 Glorious STARS!!! once in awhile you may happen upon a book of this caliber, that stays on your mind and in your heart long after your done reading it.
