"The Letters of John and Jude"

I have a set of Barclay's Commentaries on the New Testament. I purchased "The Letters to John and Jude" as a Christmas gift for my daughter. The New Daily Study Bible series are excellent for the layman as devotional, inspirational reading.

Good resource

I have always found William Barclay's Daily Bible Study series very helpful in my Bible study. The background information that is found in his work regarding customs, thought, and historical background relative to the times in which the New Testament was written. I understand that there are some theological differences but beyond that his works are very valuable.

A good layman's tool for good Bible teaching

I have always liked William Barclay's "The Daily Bible Study Series". It has a good balance of information. It does not appear to me to be swayed to any one point of view. It is easy for the lay person to read and use without having to have a degree in theology. I use it along with other commentaries to balance what I am learning. As it says in the book, it is used world wide, has been translated into several languages and is used by lay persons as well as the Pastor. I do have several others in my collection, but this time I wanted a hard cover so it would stand the test of time and lots of use.

One of a Great Series

I own this whole set of 17 Barclay Daily Study Bibles and use them more than anything else in my rather extensive library. We also have a set in our church library and they are the books checked out more than any others. If you want a good, interesting, easy to read and understand resource on any of the books of the New Testament, I highly recommend any of this series.
