In the dank dark cellar, under the abondoned Slow Creek post office, letters and postcards lay waiting to be mailed. They harbor silent voices with long buried secrets. Rodents have chewed on the envelopes and scattered them around the dirt floor. The Foster sister's return to Slow Creek, just to plan their aunt Diane's burial, is interrupted by the discovery of the last mail. However, finding the misplaced correspondence takes them on a quest...with disturbing results. Unable to resist the temptation to open the letters, they discover information that will change the course of several peoples' lives. Deception creates turmoil in what had seemed to be tranquil lives. Confessions of murder shock the sisters and require them to take action. They agonize over opening and delivering the letter, or simply handing them over to the authorities. Renewing old friendships and long lost-loves bring the sentimental sisters excitement, anxiety, and thought provoking decision-making.
