Parent's Against Bullying VA is an organization that has been embraced locally as it serves a dire purpose for young people. Shant'a Miller founded P.A.B.VA in 2012 after her twin daughters were bullied. Her daughter's physical attack and recovery process created the desire in her to promote awareness and offer support. P.A.B.VA has been informing and educating through school tours and outreach activities. From Stand Your Ground 4 Peace step shows to Annual PAB Youth Marches, P.A.B.VA is a movement to unify PAB soldiers and develop No Bully Zone communities. Partnerships have developed with Peninsula Towne Center, the City of Newport News and Pepsi. Collaborations have emerged between Boys & Girls Clubs, the Juvenile Detention Center and Gang Outreach Program. Girl Talk and Gent Talk are events led by local leaders giving back. 600 males have graduated from Gent Talk in the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary. P.A.B.VA has been officially recognized by First Lady Michelle Obama and Senator Mark Warren. Shant'a has been the recipient of numerous awards. Shant'a is moving P.A.B.VA forward by consulting, conducting training programs and speaking engagements. The future holds hopes of travel beyond Virginia to prevent bullying and opening a center for mentoring programs.
