This book has great information for visiting Puerto Rico. We had bought a map but it turned out to not always be reliable, so this book saved the day! It has great details on finding hotels and it's very informative regarding the different regions of the island.
A budget 5

I spent a week in San Juan relaxing, so I cannot comment on the book's relation to the rest of the island, but of the several travel books I purchased this is the one I referred to the most (even though I am not a backpacker or tight budget person). This book had good descriptions of sights, hotels, restaurants, ways to get around, information on Puerto Rican life and culture. Small enough to carry around, I did tear the city map out of the Fodor's Puerto Rico as that was the best laid out for the old city. This book is a very good resource.
Useful and interesting

I used this edition of Let's Go for 2 separate trips to Puerto Rico and was very happy with it. I thought it contained a good amount of background and history of the island, as well as pointing out interesting, non-touristy places to go and things to do. It has a lively, engaging tone and is never dry or boring. I enjoyed just reading it to learn about Puerto Rico, aside from using it as a guide to the island. A more recent edition has been published, so therefore not all of the info in this edition is totally up to date (but of course, it is impossible to have a totally up-to-date travel book because by the time these books are published, some things will inevitably have changed). But in my opinion it would be worth having along just to read about Puerto Rico and get suggestions for off-the-beaten-path things to do.

We just returned from Puerto Rico and thanks to Let's Go we had a fabulous time. Information in there is extremely accurate and all the essential information is provided. I did take another book (Frommer's guide) and that was hopeless.
Fantastic

I'm from Puerto Rico and out of curiosity, I browsed through LG Puerto Rico. This is *the* travel guide for Puerto Rico. Not only is it more detailed than Lonely Planet and others, but it also gives the reader an up close and personal glance to all the fun things you can do on the island. Don't think twice. Buy this book over all others.
