Many accounts of the civil war have been written. In this fictional story of a young man drawn into the war by events not of his choosing. Mikeal and his family are up-rooted and separated by the upcoming events that would split the nation. He joins the Confederacy and fights under the command General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. Wounded in the battle of Front Royal Virginia. He is nursed back to health by a pretty young southern girl named Sharon and her family. They fall in love and are married but the war wont let him alone and he returns. Because of injuries he has suffered he joins and rides with the Calvary through 1862 and 1863 in many a bloody battle. Through these years many of his friends and family die but he fighting for the southern cause until he is finally wounded bad enough to be dismissed from the Army. His trip home is filled with perils, and in the end he comes full circle with the war and the hate inside of him.
