In the world today almost everything you see contains a warning label. Coffee cups warn that it is hot, cleaning products state they are harmful if swallowed, baby strollers state to remove the child before you fold it up. The list could go on and on and seems to span to just about every product, service, or event. The one thing that I didn't get a warning label about was marriage. There's no crash course, PowerPoint presentation, or even a manual they slip you before or after you walk down the aisle. After you have dated someone for a while everyone wants to know when you are getting married. The pressure society, family, and friends put on you can be massive. You feel like you need to accomplish this goal by a certain age to "fit" in and be considered successful, but no one tells you the truth on what it will be like.
While most people do not anticipate their marriage will end in a divorce, the reality is it happens, a lot. This book is the first in a three part series that highlights the lessons that were learned in a divorce. This book contains little pieces of information that I wish I would have known. I am not an expert when it comes to this topic, but it was an experience that provided some very valuable lessons. After being on the other side these are the things that I have learned, that taught me to grow, and that completely changed my outlook on life and relationships. The goal is simply to help someone else feel less alone, to know that what they are experiencing is normal, and to provide hope that it will get better.
