These lessons are being published with the hope and prayer that people who read them will become more fruitful. Fruitful means being productive as a Christian and helping others to come to know Christ as Lord and Savior and helping Christians to, "Grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:18 Fruitful people also have the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. Paul lists 9 fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22. They are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Fruit is tasty, healthy food. People who eat fruit are nourished and strengthened. People who have the fruit of the Spirit in them are like a peach tree with ripe peaches. People who see those peaches want some and are nourished and strengthened when they eat. May the reading of this book make you to be like a peach tree with ripe peaches that nourishes others.
These lessons have many quotations from Scriptures, illustrations, stories from Scripture, stories from modern life, and some pictures that add life to the lessons.

Imagine a scene. We are in the Garden of Eden. It is the sixth day of creation, and God has just finished making a man out of dust. The man is lying on the garden floor. He is perfect but dead. God leans down and lifts the man's head and breathes into his nostrils the breath of life, and he comes alive. God calls him Adam. Genesis 2:7
Imagine another scene: There is Moses, David, John, Mark, Paul and many more men. They are each sitting by their own desk with clean parchment spread out before them. They pick up their pens and begin to write. They are inspired and are writing the Word of God. God stoops down and lifts their parchments and breathes on them, and they become alive. 2 Timothy 3:16 says that all Scripture is God breathed. It is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword. It is my hope and prayer that God will breathe on these lessons taken from Holy Scriptures and will make them alive and give added meaning to your life's story.
