Andrew Tucker and Katie Flynn have just been presented with information which baffles them. A mysterious man explains that they and the other people who aren't being affected by the daily, unexplained, animalistic urges to commit crimes, are the world's last hope of civilisation returning to normal. However, to prepare them all for the work which lays ahead of them, they must be put through training: surviving a month within the Amazon rainforest, help-free and in the presence of a group of the Affected- the people who are experiencing these urges.
