The book covers leprosy cases in one of Brazil's states. In the period observed, 13,648 cases of leprosy were recorded, with a predominance in the 40-69 age group. The prevalence exceeds 16 cases / 10,000 inhabitants. The univariate analysis for children under fifteen showed positive spatial autocorrelation, and the clusters showed areas with a high number of records. The illiteracy rate was positive, as was the Gini coefficient. The income variable and demographic density resulted in spatial independence. It can therefore be concluded that the state of Mato Grosso accounts for a significant proportion of leprosy cases in Brazil.
