Trees and rocks sculpted by the Lenape remain in the Delaware River watershed. The author describes their characteristics via full color photographs and captions. An introductory essay explains why these monuments are currently at risk, due to the Susquehanna to Roseland Transmission Line Project. Super voltage power lines, connected to 200' towers, will scar the landscape for 140 miles--from Berwick, Pennsylvania to Roseland, New Jersey. The route crosses the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, the Appalachian Trail, and the Middle Delaware National Scenic River. The National Park Service did not include Lenape monuments in their Environmental Impact Study for S-R. These photos are representative of what will be lost as thousands of trees are cut and ecosystems ravaged, for corporate profit. The author hopes that that beauty and craftsmanship of these Lenape sculptures will spur readers to protect this sacred area. Suggestions are provided to that end.
