Lehavre's Untold Stories

By Marissa Conklin

Donyelle and Flynn had watched their best friends fall in love, marry, reshape the kingdom of Lehavre, and have twins, all in the span of a year. But their relationship status? It would certainly fall under the label "it's complicated." Severe parental abandonment issues from the couple seemed to cause this potential relationship to stagnate-doomed to failure. Yet, when Flynn and Donyelle are suddenly thrust into a parental role, they must confront their deepest fears- especially the past trauma that had paralyzed their relationship thus far. Can they put aside their insecurities to care for a deeply troubled child? ***** The little girl sucked in a breath, raising a little hand dripping with blood. She was holding on to a large particularly pointy shard of glass like it was her lifeline, but it was cutting into her fingers, making her wince. That's when I saw it; she reminded me so painfully of me as a child. That lost, scared look masked by aggression and false bravery. This little one has been through hell; and she isn't taking it anymore.
